Is That Trash Really Trash?

Why do we at many times think that creativity is a calling for the “few”? Creativity is not a calling and even if it were, it is something that we are all called to. The art of being creative and innovative lies in the mind of each one of us and it is never exploited until we choose to explore it. Creativity and innovation are a result of exercising your mind through becoming more practical with the ideas engraved therein.

Just like Myles Munroe clears states that “Junk lies in the hand of the beholder” in his book Understanding Your Potential, everything around us right from the worst of trash to the most treasurable of items is another opportunity for us to explore our ability to be creative and innovation.

So what is it that you have? What is filling up your trash can or bin today? Is that trash really trash? What is it that you see yourself generating from that “useless” paper, thread, old clothes in your closet…? Have you thought about the possibility of turning that trash into the most valuable commodity? And if you and I believe that trash can be turned into treasure, what then is trash? In the world we live in, we choose to refer to potential as trash but in actual sense, no trash is actually trash.

The people we see today and think that they are more gifted with the ability to create are not actually gifted. The trick is that they have mastered so well the art of seeing anything and everything around them as an opportunity for them to discover treasure. Let us in the same way be alert to see all the opportunities around us. Creativity is for each one of us, so let’s utilize it and maximize our potential.
